Rebozo Closing

This beautiful ritual is meant to close the total period of a year (pregnancy – delivery – postpartum). During pregnancy and childbirth, the woman opens up to give life. Then she must combine the roles of mother, partner and wife. Often, being a mother takes over and she feels internally divided. In Mexico, the mother is fully cared for for the first 40 days after delivery so that she can devote herself to the baby. After these 40 days, she undergoes the Rebozo Closing ritual, as a transition to close this phase and open herself to the outside world. The Rebozo is a Mexican woven, cotton wrap, which is used as a scarf, baby wrap, to support the belly during pregnancy, for massage during delivery and then in daily life with children. In the Netherlands, the form of the ritual has been slightly adjusted, but the intention is the same:

  • Wrap the body in seven stages

During the entire ritual, a warming, purifying herbal tea is drunk and there is an opportunity to talk about your delivery (s).

The ritual is also very suitable for dealing with a miscarriage or a silent birth. We can come to your home or meet at another location that is familiar to you. The condition is that there is a bath.
