Moxa treatment

The moxa is often used in Chinese acupuncture.
It is a pressed stick of mugwort herb that, when lit, spreads an intense and pleasant warmth. The hot moxa stick is then held above certain acupuncture points of the back and abdomen for some time.
The treatment is intended to generate the Chi energy in the postpartum body and to bring the heat back. Chi means life energy. It is the central principle in traditional Chinese medicine. It stimulates the activation of the energy channels, also called meridians, through internal heating. This has an effect on the blood circulation and the vital energy in the back / hip and abdomen area. The warmth of the moxa stick is intense and soothing. It can also provide a lot of relief after severe back contractions and a sensitive pelvic floor area.
